Salvage categories we accept
Cat N (non-structural): cosmetic and electrical damage. Often still worth good money in parts.
Cat S (structural): chassis or crumple-zone damage. Repair costs usually exceed value; scrap is the sensible route.
Cat B (break): body-shell destroyed; parts can be reused, shell must be crushed. We handle this under our ATF licence.
Cat A: total loss — entire vehicle destroyed. We accept these but no parts are resold, per DVSA rules.
Insurance write-off vs private scrap
If your insurer has kept the salvage, they'll arrange disposal through their approved agent — you can't sell it to us. If you've retained the salvage (common on older cars with a small settlement), you own the V5C and we can collect and pay you directly. Check the settlement letter or call your claims handler if unsure.
