Definitions

- Certificate of Destruction (CoD)
- The official DVLA document that proves a car has been permanently scrapped. Issued by the ATF, sent to you and to DVLA, and released to you within 7 working days (we email within 48 hours).
- V5C (logbook)
- The vehicle registration document. Helpful but not required to scrap — we can collect without one and notify DVLA on your behalf.
- Road-tax refund
- DVLA automatically refunds any full unused months of vehicle excise duty once the scrap notification is processed. Cheque is posted to the address on the V5.
