Why motorhomes pay more than cars

Scrap value tracks weight and recoverable components. A 3.5-tonne coachbuilt carries roughly three times the mass of a family hatchback, plus a commercial engine, gearbox and catalytic converter that hold their own value.

VehicleTypical weightMain value drivers
Small campervan conversion1.8–2.4tBase van, engine, cat, wheels

Send the make, model, year, MOT status and whether it drives, and we'll confirm a fixed figure in writing before booking.

Damp, delamination and end-of-life motorhomes

Most motorhomes are scrapped because the habitation body has gone, not the engine. Once damp reaches the floor, walls or roof bonding, repair quotes routinely exceed the vehicle's value. We take them exactly as they are — no cleaning, no repairs, no drying out.

Habitation waste, appliances and any residual fluids are separated and disposed of under our Environment Agency licence, so nothing ends up handled illegally.

Before we arrive

  • Remove personal belongings, documents and valuables
  • Empty fresh, grey and waste tanks where possible
  • Remove or declare LPG gas bottles — we can't transport loose cylinders
  • Tell us about access: soft ground, low branches, height restrictions or narrow gates
  • Have photo ID and proof of address ready (scrap metal dealer rules)

We collect across Southampton, Portsmouth, the New Forest, Winchester, Basingstoke, Aldershot, Farnborough, Fleet and the Isle of Wight.
