What a scrap motorbike is actually worth
Bike scrap value is driven by weight, engine size and how complete the machine is. A 125cc scooter is a fraction of the mass of a car, so the money sits in the reusable parts rather than the steel.
| Type | Typical condition | What drives the price |
|---|---|---|
| 50–125cc scooter / moped | Non-runner, stood for years | Engine, wheels, plastics, frame |
| 250–650cc commuter | MOT failure or accident | Engine, forks, exhaust, cat content |
| 750cc+ sports / tourer | Damaged or seized | Engine, ECU, brakes, bodywork |
| Quad / trike | Farm or off-road use | Weight plus running gear |
Tell us the make, model, engine size and whether it turns over, and we'll give you a fixed written figure — the price quoted is the price paid.
Collection across Hampshire
We collect bikes from garages, side alleys, sheds, lock-ups and driveways right across the county — Southampton, Portsmouth, Basingstoke, Winchester, Aldershot, Farnborough, Fleet and everywhere between. Bikes are strapped and loaded properly; nothing is dragged.
Booked before 2pm, same-day collection is usually available. If the bike is behind a locked gate or up a step, tell us when you book and we'll send the right kit.
Paperwork: V5C, DVLA and the Certificate of Destruction
Motorcycles follow the same end-of-life rules as cars. We are an Environment Agency licensed Authorised Treatment Facility, so we notify DVLA the day we collect and issue a Certificate of Destruction within 48 hours. That ends your legal liability for tax, insurance and any future penalties.
No V5C? Not a problem — bring photo ID and proof of address and we'll handle the rest.
