Is end of life vehicle disposal portsmouth really free?

Yes — collection is included in the price quoted, anywhere in Portsmouth (PO1, PO2, PO3, PO4, PO5, PO6).

What is a Certificate of Destruction?

It's the official document an Authorised Treatment Facility issues when a vehicle is scrapped. It proves you're no longer responsible for the vehicle, and the DVLA is notified at the same time.

Do I get my road tax back after scrapping in Portsmouth?

Yes. Once the DVLA is told the car is scrapped, it automatically refunds any full months of tax left.

What happens to my car after collection?

It's taken to a licensed treatment facility, depolluted, then dismantled. Usable parts are reused and the rest is recycled.
