Scrap car prices by weight
Scrap car prices in Hampshire are built from a per-tonne ferrous rate applied to your car's weighbridge ticket, plus uplifts for the catalytic converter, alloy wheels, aluminium body panels and working ancillaries. A 1,100kg supermini pays much less than a 2,000kg SUV — but a stripped shell of the same model pays less again. Send the reg for a guaranteed written figure.
- Weighbridge-based pricing — no verbal estimates
- Cat converter uplift on top of shell weight
- Aluminium-body multiplier for Jaguar, Range Rover, Audi A8
- Van & pickup weight bands separately priced
- Missing wheels, doors or bonnet reduce weight ticket
- Free written quote per registration

What sits on top of the per-tonne rate
- Catalytic converter — priced separately by make/engine, from £30 to £400+
- Alloy wheels — non-ferrous uplift vs steel wheels
- Aluminium body panels — Jaguar XE/XF, Range Rover, Audi A8
- Working starter battery — small lead-acid uplift
- Rare/reusable parts — good gearbox, working ECU, straight body panels can be sold on before de-pollution
Why we quote per registration, not per kg
The ferrous per-tonne rate moves weekly with the London Metal Exchange. Catalytic-converter values move daily with platinum, palladium and rhodium prices. Rather than publish a stale £/kg figure, we take the reg, look up the manufacturer kerb weight, apply this week's rate, add the cat-converter class for that engine, and email a guaranteed written quote. That price is locked in until collection.
